I'm Watching
I’m watching the sun set
Like some golden warrior
Dying in glorious battle
On a battlefield of trees
Blackened by winter’s deathly touch
*
Like some handsome shimmering sword
Slashing its way in slow motion
Through a lonely forest atop a hill
Crowned with tombstones like decaying teeth
* Like a stabbing wound
That leaves behind a deathlike calm
A bleeding sky
Of brilliant and sudden awareness
